The 2021 Reading Challenge
The 2021 reading challenge is here! With categories like, “an author with a nine-letter last name,” “an epistolary,” or “a family saga,” this year’s list will hopefully push each of us to new reading heights! And I am so very excited to share it with you.
How it works:
This challenge is made up of 52 different prompts to be read over the course of 52 weeks. Find a book that matches one of the prompts and work your way through the list!
You can see here for a full list of our challenge rules.
The goals are simple:
Push yourself to read more. Try new genres/authors/books. And (most importantly) have fun while doing so!
And, because I know you have questions like, “What if I can’t read all 52 books in a year?” or “Can I use the same book for more than one prompt?” or “Do audiobooks counts?” we’ve compiled a list of FAQs.
Click here to find answers to our most frequently asked questions!
The 52 Book Club’s 2021 Challenge will officially begin January 1st, 2021 — so don’t forget to invite your friends and fellow bookworms to join in!

How to participate:
I might be biased, but I’m pretty sure our Facebook Group is one of the best little book communities on the web. You don’t want to miss out on it. Join to share your reads with other 52 Book Club members and find ideas for prompts.
You can also follow along with us on Instagram (use the #the52bookclub2021 when sharing challenge reads) or find us on Goodreads!
So, what do you think? What are some of your FAVOURITE prompts from this year’s reading challenge? Which ones are going to be trickier to complete? (Don’t forget, you can get as creative as you’d like when interpreting the prompts. Be sure to read through our rules or FAQs for more tips on that!)
Happy reading!
